The LEILOCK KL1-P is a guard locking safety interlock switch that fits to the leading edge of sliding or hinged machine guards. It provides a lock mechanism to keep the guard closed until the hazard has been removed. It is tongue operated with positively operated switching contacts and a strong tamper resistant key mechanism. It provides robust position interlock detection for moving guards. This solenoid interlock switch can be used with safety timers to provide a delay before allowing the guard to open (for example machines that require a rundown). Depending upon the risk assessment for the application, it can be used independently to provide positively operated contacts to IEC 60947-5-1 or used with any dual channel safety monitoring relay to provide up to Category 4 PLe ISO 13849-1 or SIL3 EN62061. They are designed to be mounted on machines and sections of conveyors which cannot be protected by guards and unlike emergency stop pushbuttons can be activated from any point along the length of rope pull to provide robust emergency stop protection. In combination with a dual channel safety monitoring relay these safety rope switches can be used as emergency stop devices and monitored for up to Category 4 to EN 954-1 or PLe ISO 13849-1.
