Light Guides for Front Panels - Rear-Mounted. The rear-mounted light guides, from MENTOR, are designed for use with front panels. The rear-mounting method enables the light guide head to be the same size as the hole within the front panel. Standard front panel light guides require a larger head than the mounting hole, which is not fully illuminated by the LED. Therefore the rear-mounted light guides often have a flush and more attractive appearance. This range of light guides can be mechanically fixed through the radial compression of slightly oversized rings moulded within their body. Minimum recommended thickness of the front panel is 1.5 mm.
