Features
- To monitor the intensity of a laser or to observe light in a part of an optical system, a beam sampler is inserted into the optical path and only 5% of the incident light is taken out of the optical path.
- Anti-reflection coating on the back side prevents stray light on the back side.
- There are two types: a parallel plane type, in which the beam does not refract, and a wedge type, in which ghosts and interference due to backside reflections are less affected.
- The reflectivity of the coated surface has a small wavelength variation and can be accurately determined from the refractive index of the substrate.
- The wedge type has an arrow pointing toward the surface at the thickest point.
- * Due to the effect of the refractive index and thickness of the substrate, the optical path of the transmitted light is translated by several millimeters relative to the incident light. (In the case of the wedge type, the beam polarization angle of about 30 minutes is added to the translation of the optical path.) * * The transmittance wavelength characteristic changes when used at an incident angle other than 45 degrees. (Refer to the graph of the reflectivity change with respect to the incident angle.) * * The arrow on the side of the substrate indicates the side of the uncoated surface (reflective surface).
- * When using a linearly polarized light source such as a laser, the reflectivity varies between 0.9~9.6% depending on the polarization direction. (Refer to the Reflectance Wavelength Characteristic Graph) * * If there is dirt on the reflective surface, the reflectivity may change significantly.
- * Although the camera can be used for infrared and ultraviolet light, the anti-reflection film on the back may not be effective.
