- The micro: bit has 3 basic I/O connectors, but the 20 pin edge connector allows for extended functionality. By connecting the micro: bit breakout to the micro: bit, you can access all 21 GPIO terminals as well as the power and ground terminals. The pin header is soldered in advance, so it can be used as it is on a breadboard.
