• Impurity-free sapphire is a transparent crystal with no absorption from the visible to the infrared (5 μm).
• It is a window plate made of this sapphire crystal.
• Sapphire crystals are extremely hard and scratch resistant, so they can be used as protective glass.
• It also has excellent heat and weather resistance, so it can be used as a window to protect the optical system from the outdoor environment.
• It can be used as a window for wide-band detectors because of its excellent transparency from the visible to the infrared.
• We also have a CaF2 window plate (OPCFU) for ultraviolet application that can be used from 130 nm to 8 μm.
• Gem sapphire produces a bright blue color by mixing metal ions such as iron and titanium into natural sapphire crystals.
• Artificial sapphire is colorless and transparent and is used as a cover glass for watches and as a substrate for blue LEDs.
• Sapphire crystals may emit fluorescence when exposed to ultraviolet light.
• * CaF2 window plate (OPCFU) is available for external use.
• * When laser light or linearly polarized light is applied, the polarization state changes due to the birefringence of the crystal.
• * The sapphire window plate is not coated with an anti-reflection film.
• * The transmittance is about 85% due to the loss caused by surface reflection (8% per surface).
