• A cube beam splitter with 1:2 or 1:3 reflectivity and transmittance.
• Combined with a half mirror, it can be a three-branch or four-branch optical system that distributes light equally.
• Since a dielectric multilayer film is used, there is little loss of light due to absorption of the film, and light quantity can be diverged efficiently.
• Since the polarization characteristics are smaller than those of the cube type, light quantity divergence is possible even when used for laser light sources or linearly polarized light sources.
• Since it is a plate type, wavelength dispersion and chromatic aberration generated by transmission through the substrate are small, and weight can be reduced.
• There are two types: the parallel plane type, in which the beam does not refract, and the wedge substrate type, in which the backside reflection has less effect on ghosts and interference.
• The wedge type has an arrow pointing toward the surface at the thickest point.
• * When linearly polarized light such as laser light is used, the reflectivity and transmittance vary depending on the polarization direction.
• * When strictly adjusting the branching ratio, tilt the polarization azimuth to 45 degrees or use circularly polarized light.
• * Due to the effect of the refractive index and thickness of the substrate, the optical path of the transmitted light is translated by several millimeters relative to the incident light. (In the case of the wedge type, the beam polarization angle of about 30 minutes is added to the translation of the optical path.) * * The transmittance wavelength characteristic changes when used at an incident angle other than 45 degrees.
• * The phase difference of the incident light is not stored in transmitted light or reflected light.
• * Use a wave plate to compensate for the phase difference.
