• Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance, light and strong properties. Pure titanium has a specific gravity of 4.51 and is as light as 50% of steel and about 60% of stainless steel. Corrosion resistance is superior to that of stainless steel and copper alloys in many cases, and is comparable to that of platinum, especially in seawater.
• Because of its excellent lightness and corrosion resistance, titanium is used in a wide range of fields, including aviation, space, thermal power, nuclear power, construction, civil engineering, marine development, automotive, chemical, precision equipment (non-magnetic), medicine, and food (non-toxic, biocompatible).
