• Denier is a unit of linear density, thickness, and thread/fiber thickness. 1 Denier is the mass of 9,000 meters of yarn in grams. For example, "polyester (150 denier)" is a fabric woven with 150 grams of polyester yarn per 9,000 meters. The higher the number, the thicker the yarn. For cotton and wool, the thickness of the thread is expressed as "number," and the higher the number, the thinner the thread, while the denier of the chemical fiber becomes thicker. 30 denier is often used in shrouf and rainwear, 210~420 denier is often used in a sack, and about 600~1,000 denier at the bottom of the sack.
