• Ceralock is a resonant element made of artificial ceramic and is used in an oscillation circuit in the same way as a quartz oscillator. Frequency accuracy and stability are not as good as crystal, but Q is low and oscillation is easy. It is a three-terminal type and has the load capacitance required for a standard Colpitz-type oscillation circuit, so a clock oscillation circuit can be constructed simply by connecting to a microcomputer IC.
