The PP026 passive probe is compatible with Teledyne LeCroy HDO4000/HDO4000-MS, HDO6000/HDO6000-MS and HDO8000 oscilloscopes, and with MDA800 motor drive analyzers. Using the appropriate passive probe with an oscilloscope or analyzer means that the probe will be properly compensated across the entire bandwidth. Otherwise compensation will be for low frequencies only. Teledyne LeCroy Passive Probe PP026. Passive probes are the standard probe provided with most oscilloscopes. They are also sold as separate items and as replacements. The PP026 (PP026-1 single pack, PP026-2 two pack) has 500 MHz bandwidth, 10 pF input capacitance and 5 mm probe tip diameter. It is typical of passive probes in that it provides a 10:1 attenuation and features a high resistance of 10 MΩ. Its high input resistance makes the passive probe a choice instrument for low frequency signals, because circuit loading at such frequencies is minimised. Passive probes are designed to handle voltages of at least 400 V. The PP026 handles up to 500 V. Teledyne LeCroy passive probes feature an attenuation sense pin which activates the oscilloscope to scale waveforms automatically, with no operator input.
