Features
- It is an instrument for preparing a small amount of diazomethane.
- Add 3 mL of ether to (1).
- Add 0.5 mL of water and 133 mg of MNNG (N-methyl-N '-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine) to Step (2), and close Septum (3).
- Assemble as shown, secure with a clip, and place in a cold ice bath.
- Next, from the upper septum (3), 5 N is added with a syringe, 0.6 mL of NaOH solution is leached into the outer tube by reaction pressure of diazomethane, immediately dissolved in ether, and recovered as a yellow solution.
- Diazomean is a yellow odorless toxic gas that easily explodes.
- It will decompose quickly due to light, heat, or other stimuli, so be careful when preparing it in the draft.
- Store in a cool dark place with anhydrous ether solution, but ideally prepare before use.
