Features
A plate-type polarization beam splitter that can be used for high-power lasers and large beam diameters.
It is used in optical systems such as polarization attenuators for high-power lasers and optical systems that vary the light divergence ratio.
By setting the incident angle to the Brewster angle, a beam splitter with a high S and P polarization separation ratio has been realized.
Since dielectric multilayer films are used for coating, light loss is small and polarization separation can be achieved efficiently.
Since it is a plate type, the weight does not become heavy even if the effective diameter of the beam increases.
The distance that light passes through the glass is reduced, so it is less affected by wavelength dispersion and chromatic aberration.
* Before use, make sure that the energy density of the incident laser beam does not exceed the laser capacity.
* If the laser beam is narrowly narrowed by a lens or concave reflection, the energy density may exceed the laser capacity of the device and the device may be damaged.
* The back surface of the plate-type polarization beam splitter is not coated with anti-reflection film. (The reflection is 0% due to P polarization incident on the Brewster angle.)
* If the light is incident from the back side, S-polarized light may be reflected from the back side, resulting in multi-reflection stray light.
* Use according to the incidence angle indicated in the specifications.
* When the angle of incidence is different, the transmittance wavelength characteristics change, and the transmittance, reflectivity, and the separation ratio between P-polarized light and S-polarized light change.
* Note that the angle of incidence varies depending on the material and wavelength.
* Characteristics of the polarization beam splitter cannot be obtained except for the adaptive wavelength.
* Select the element suitable for the wavelength to be used.
* Due to the effect of the refractive index and thickness of the substrate, the optical path of the transmitted light is translated by several millimeters relative to the incident light.
