• The Omron communication option board functions as a gateway for running and stopping the inverter, setting and referencing parameters, and the output frequency option board functions as a gateway for passing register values communicated from the PROFIBUS network to the inverter and vice versa. The PROFIBUS Master can read/write parameter data via the option board using the mailboxes provided by some modules and the PROFIdrive DP-V1 parameter channel. The option board can be configured simply by wiring the unit, setting the PROFIBUS node address (page 180) and device profile (page 182), and restarting the device. When the power is turned on, the unit settings are automatically read. You do not need to use special programming equipment to configure it. All parameters required by the option board are stored in the inverter. Option boards are replaceable and do not require reconfiguration. The option board automatically detects the master communication baud rate, so no user configuration is required.
