• The Kjeldahl method is widely used as a method for the determination of nitrogen in nitrogen compounds, mainly protein in food and feed.
• There are two methods, micro (3~5 mg) and semi-micro, depending on the amount of sample used.
• A decomposition accelerator and sulfuric acid are added to the sample, and the decomposition solution is decomposed by heating. The decomposed solution is made alkaline. The released ammonia is distilled, collected in a certain amount of acid, and the excess acid is titrated with alkali to determine the amount of nitrogen.
