• The X5R dielectric series is "metastable" based on a maximum operating temperature of 85 °C. The capacitance of the X5R over time and voltage is predictable. Also, capacitance variation with ambient temperature is minimized. Capacitance fluctuation is limited to ± 15% in the range from -55 °C to +85 °C.
• Application: Bypass and decoupling for frequency discrimination circuit when Q characteristics and stability of capacitance are not important
• C0G dielectrics operate stably at a maximum temperature of 125 °C. Capacitance is not affected by changes in voltage and time. These temperatures apply temperature compensation, making them ideal for resonant circuit applications. When Q characteristics and stability of capacitance are required, capacitance fluctuation is limited to ±30 ppm/oC in the range from -55 °C to +125 °C.
