• How do I terminate wires into connectors?
• This D-Sub has a solder cup with a hollow cup-like cavity. Insert a wire into it and secure it with solder. First, make sure that the connectors are securely fastened during the operation. The end of each wire is peeled off, and the amount of insulation peeled off is determined according to the depth of the solder cup. Tin the exposed wire strands with a soldering iron and partially fill the solder cups with solder. Place a soldering iron on the edge of the cup so that the solder melts. Insert the end of the tin-plated wire into the cup and hold it there until the solder hardens. If the wire gauge is thick enough to fit into the cup, insert the wire into the cup and melt the solder into the cup while applying the soldering iron to the back of the cup.
• How do I install this connector? This D-sub is designed for panel installation. Drill holes in the panel. The dimensions of the hole are determined by the dimensions of the plug or socket panel cutout. The two mounting flanges on either side of the connector have mounting holes. Drill holes in the panel to match these mounting holes. Then insert the connector into the panel cutout and screw it into the holes in both the connector and the panel.
