• Panel-mounted RCA pin jacks, phi 3.5 jacks, etc. are divided into "insulated" and "non-insulated" types. Insulated or non-insulated means "whether the GND terminal of the connector contacts the panel" when the connector is attached to the panel.
• For insulated types, the GND terminal of the connector does not connect (contact) with the panel.
• The non-insulated type will be electrically connected if the panel is metallic.
• Insulated connectors are used when you don't want to create a "GND (ground) loop."

• A loop of wiring, especially a GND line loop, is called a GND loop. When the magnetic flux interchains with the loop, current flows through the GND line, creating a voltage that becomes noise. In such cases, breaking the loop prevents noise due to the interlocking of magnetic flux.
