• It is a sensor that detects the presence or absence of objects by reflecting infrared rays. Infrared light emitting diode and photodiode (light receiving sensor) are integrated. The purpose is to detect if there is an object that reflects infrared light at a specified location (typically 6mm from the sensor). (It is not a "proximity sensor" that detects approaching human bodies.) For reliable sensing, it is necessary to secure a clear contrast by attaching a reflector to an object and blocking the incidence of infrared rays when there is no object.
