• Cross-cut plates can be used for viscosity indicators, cross-cut guides, applicators, adhesive force indicators (corners) and wet gauge applications.
• Applications: Viscosity is measured by the time it takes the undried coating to fill and return.
• It can be used to test the resistance of paint films such as paints and varnishes by making a grid cut with a box cutter.
• -For testing coatings such as paints, inks, adhesives and sealants.
• The adhesive strength of the painted ink or adhesive is measured by drawing a gauge at the corner of the sample.
• The gauge is applied vertically on the undried paint film, and the film thickness is measured by reading the position where the paint is applied.
