• What do the TeSys contactor usage categories AC1 and AC3 mean?
• The contactor usage category defines make/break current values based on the Type of load being controlled and operating cycle conditions. AC -1: Applies to all AC equipment with a power factor of 0.95 or greater. Examples of use: resistive loads, heaters, power distribution, etc. AC -3: Applicable to three-phase squirrel cage motors where a break occurs during motor operation. Examples of use: all three-phase cage motors, elevators, escalators, conveyors, bucket elevators, compressors, pumps, mixers, air conditioning units, etc.
