• KEMET vehicle-grade, high-voltage, flexible-terminated (HV FT-CAP) surface mount ceramic capacitors using C0G dielectrics address bending cracking, a major failure mode in MLCCs. The use of a flexible, conductive silver epoxy between the base metal of the termination system and the nickel barrier layer prevents the transfer of board stress to the rigid ceramic body, reducing the occurrence of bending cracks that can lead to failures due to low IR or short circuits.
