The EcoFlex range from Alpha Wire is a moderately flexible compact control cable which is fully recyclable due to its mPPE jacket and insulation construction. This multicore control cable can handle extreme temperatures, contains zero halogens, plus it is smaller and lighter than its PVC equivalent. Supra-Shield cables have a triple layer of aluminium/polyester/aluminium foil and a braided shield made from tinned copper. The combination of braid and foil allows for excellent EMI performance. What is mPPE?. mPPE is a modified polyphenylene ether thermoplastic. Cables with a mPPE sheath have a smaller wall thickness than other cables due to their dielectric properties. The fact that the cables are lighter allows them to be used in many different applications. mPPE has a lower specific gravity compared to other jacket and insulation materials such as PVC and PE. This combined with the excellent dielectric properties allow the cables to be up to 65% lighter and thinner than conventional cables. How is the control cable environmentally friendly?. Unlike PVC, flexible cables made containing mPPE are halogen-free, contain no phthalates and are 100% recyclable and deemed to be environmentally friendly. What is halogen-free?.
