• These wheels contain 3M precision molded abrasive grains with a triangular shape that cuts into the metal, rather than gouging like conventional abrasives. Fine chipping of the abrasive grain always sharpens the edge and achieves very fast cutting. This reduces heat build-up due to friction and reduces heat-related stress cracks and discoloration.　The 3M Cubitron II Cutoff Disc provides very sharp, quick cutting and lasts much longer than other discs. • Is there a difference between a cutting disc and a grinding disc
• Yes, the thickness of the disc is different. The cutting disk is thinner than the grinding disk. Cutting discs typically do not have sufficient side strength for side grinding.
• Can I use a metal cutting disc for stone applications? Separate disks are required for stone applications. Metal cutting disks are usually made of aluminum oxide particles, while stone cutting disks are made of silicon carbide.
