• RS Pro IEC Type T Exposed Contact Fast Response Thermocouple with Miniature Plug
• RS Pro Type T thermocouple temperature sensor complies with IEC-584-3 standard and meets Class 1 tolerance. This thermocouple temperature sensor has a weld tip exposed contact with fast response time. The wires are wired with durable Teflon PFA insulation and terminated with IEC584 color coded miniature flat pin plugs for quick and easy connection.
• Thermocouples are used to measure temperature in a variety of processes. Thermocouples are made up of two wire legs of two different metals, joined at both ends of each metal to form two contacts. Thermal contacts (temperature measurement contacts) are connected to the body to be measured. Cold contacts (reference contacts) are connected to bodies of known temperature. When a temperature measuring contact is placed on a heat source, a voltage difference or potential difference occurs between the contact and the reference contact. This voltage is converted to a temperature measurement using the thermocouple reference table. This process is also known as the Seebeck effect.

• Weld tip exposed contacts are where the thermocouple wire is welded and where there is no covering. Both ends of this wire are inserted directly into the process. This means that the thermocouple has a high sensitivity and a short response time. Weld tip exposed contacts are susceptible to corrosion, so it is recommended to measure the temperature of non-corrosive flowing or stationary gas.
