They are in surface mount (SMT) packages with a standard 0805 package. The VSMY1850 packages have a clear, untinted flat top lens. SurfLight™ series, from Vishay Semiconductors, consists of high power Infrared (IR) emitters. Their SurfLight™ technology enables the majority of the light and power to be emitted directly through the top of the chip. Standard IR emitters send their light in all directions. SurfLight™ technology therefore offers a higher intensity output of light. A higher intensity can reduce the number of emitters required for a design. This series also offers high speed with a high pulse current operation.
